Time for MVI

MVI was created to help speed the process of developing vaccines that will end needless death and suffering from malaria.

Malaria vaccine research has made painstaking gains over many years. Now, targeted efforts are needed to move viable malaria vaccine candidates beyond the laboratory, into field trials. Traditionally, there has been relatively little interest in supporting these early development activities.

In addtion, special efforts are needed to bring together scientists, manufacturers, antigens, adjuvants, vaccine platforms, and testing sites. A neutral party with significant funding and technical expertise has the potential to do this.

The convergence of significant biotechnological advances, heightened political will, and ethical imperative makes this the right time for a focused initiative toward a safe and effective vaccine. It is the right time for MVI.
