Boston Consulting Group: Market Assessment for Malaria Vaccines

This presentation provides an in-depth look at the global market assessment of demand for malaria vaccines. Although we are likely years away from a licensed malaria vaccine, the malaria community requires improved information for decision-making. While the target population for a malaria vaccine is theoretically large—nearly 40 percent of the world’s population is at risk—the number of those who could pay for or would use a particular malaria vaccine is likely substantially lower. Understanding the components and dynamics of actual demand is critical to addressing current pressing issues in malaria vaccine development, and to ensuring that the introduction of a vaccine results in early, widespread use.
