Ensuring access to malaria vaccines, once they are available

MVI works to ensure that developing countries and global partners have the information they need to decide whether or not to introduce a malaria vaccine into their health systems. We also work to ensure that countries that opt to use a vaccine have access to the product.

Our activities include:

  • Catalyzing processes and policies to minimize time between availability and use. We work with and, where necessary, support international, regulatory, and other entities to ensure that requirements for the approval, funding, and delivery of malaria vaccine are addressed to minimize the gap between licensure and uptake.
  • Paving the way for informed decision-making regarding use of malaria vaccines. We engage stakeholders in African countries to ensure ownership, leadership, and informed decision-making around the use of malaria vaccines.
  • Engaging with communities to prepare for use of malaria vaccines. Our communications and advocacy activities support national-level decision-making by stakeholders and address community perceptions of malaria and vaccines.
